Dr. J. Daryl Charles to Lecture at Land Center Luncheon on October 10
Dr. J. Daryl Charles will be our guest lecturer during the fall Land Center Luncheon at 11:30 am-12:45 pm on Wednesday, October 10 in the Seelig Banquet Room of the Naylor Student Center. Dr. Charles will lecture on “The Church’s Calling to Public Life: Theological Reflections on Virtue, Stewardship, and Vocation.” Free lunch will be available for the first 65 people.
Dr. Charles is an exceptional scholar and prolific author in the fields of New Testament, Ethics, and Theology. He is currently an affiliate scholar of the Acton Institute, a contributing editor of the journal Providence: A Journal of Christianity and American Foreign Policy and the journal Touchstone, and an affiliated scholar of the John Jay Institute. He is author, co-author, editor or co-editor of fourteen books, including Natural Law and Religious Freedom (Routledge, 2017), (with David D. Corey) The Just War Tradition: An Introduction (ISI Books, 2012), (with David B. Capes) Thriving in Babylon (Pickwick, 2011), A Return to Moral First Things: Retrieving the Natural Law (Eerdmans, 2008), and most recently, (with Mark David Hall) America’s Wars: A Just War Perspective (University of Notre Dame Press, forthcoming).
